Can You Benefit From Dental Implants?

Are you missing one or more teeth?

If so, dental implants may be right for you. Not only do dental implants look and feel like your natural teeth, but they also function like your natural teeth.

To determine if dental implants are right for you, we invite you to visit our Calgary, AB dental practice for a consultation. During your consultation, our team can examine your teeth, jaw, and gums to determine if you are an ideal candidate for dental implants.

What To Expect During The Dental Implant Process

On average, the entire dental implant process can take anywhere from three to six months. During the first phase of treatment, the jaw bone is assessed to find the best placement for the dental implant. A small hole is made into the jawbone and the dental implant is placed. Once the implant is placed, we will place a protective covering over the area and allow it to heal before the next steps are taken.

An implant is designed to mimic the natural tooth root, so once the implant fuses with your jaw bone, we will place an abutment. The abutment is the connector between the implant and the dental crown. After the abutment is placed, we will place a custom dental crown to the implant. The dental crown is designed to restore the visible portion of the tooth and restore full function to your smile.

The Benefits of Dental Implants

Durable: Implants are designed to function like your natural teeth. Dental implants are permanent placed into the jawbone, allowing patients to speak and chew confidently again.

Enhances the appearance of your smile: Dental implants are customized to meet your unique needs. Our team works with you to design implants that bend seamlessly with your natural smile.

Help prevent bone loss: Implants are the only tooth replacement option that mimics the natural tooth root.  Jaw bone deterioration happens when the bone in the jaw is not properly stimulated. When patients replace missing teeth with dental implants, the titanium metal screw acts like the natural tooth root and help to stimulate the jaw bone. When left untreated, jawbone deterioration can lead to future tooth loss or facial sagging.
